- Maria da Conceição Fernandes, born in 1952, became known as Conceição "Sapateiro" (cobbler) in a tribute to her father. Following in her mother's footsteps, the clay artist Lurdes Vigo, she started in the clay arts from a very early age. She is known for her wide range of colours, her voluminous and extravagant shapes and the glaze which gives them a singular splendour.
